Themes gallery
Six themes, two projections. All renders use the same five-country dataset so the palettes are directly comparable. Use this page as a quick reference when choosing a theme and projection for a new map.

Natural Earth projection (default)
The Natural Earth projection is the default for scope=world. It gives a balanced view of land area without excessive polar distortion.

Equal Earth projection
Equal Earth preserves relative land area more accurately than Natural Earth. Russia and Canada appear slightly smaller; tropical regions appear slightly larger.
